lest we forget

never forget the sacrifices made

by soldier's past and present, regardless who they were, or where they were from. especially so those who selflessly served for Queen and country.

[here's a reproduction of my original rant off krip's, with some editing done:]

and what got my goat is that some church official's saw it fit to wade into the red or white ['cos it signifies peace - but in times of war, to wave a white cloth/thingy means yer surrendering - well, duh!] poppy debate.

just because they think they have got every right to moralise on a subject they have absolutely no fuckin clue all about. just because they think they are some religious authority so they have every fuckin right to tell us not to glorify war.

or "worship" the red poppy. bloody hell, em soldier's over the year's had died in vain surely.

this debacle serves to show their holiness-es aren't aware of their history, or that they are ingrate's. neither are they aware of the what-if scenario: if hitler did get his grip on the UK, the anglican church would be made to preach in german. worse, horror of horror's, the "anglican church"/ "church of england" would be renamed as:

die kerk von die deutsche-vaterland

[literally => the church of the gerry fatherland]

or summat. methinks.

[if i'm grammatically and absolutely correct, it's another feather in me language cap. yay.]

there should be a legislation [somewhat akin to the wee islet's] where the church or any other religious representative are totally disallowed from speaking on matter's they have absolutely no clue about. or choose to be ignorant and then aggravate the rest of us with their religious balderdash. with brimstone and fire thrown in for good measure.

yeah, and the utter irony is most of em molest young lad's behind closed doors. hypocrites.

whereas for the liberal do-gooders, if i'm in the UK right now, i'd not hesitate to tell em to shove their white poppies up a place where the sun don't shine.
