They sound very definetly canadian to me. I believe they kept Canada because it has more natural resources and it more of a tactical position from which to hold the americas.

Alice - glad to hear that your back home celebrating it. fingers and toes crosssed that krip will let you and flower go home again. if not you could put up decorations with some firework to go along pretending that your back home :) hope that helps. 'cos i know 4th of july means alot to you. i was very moved by the pride and patriotism as displayed by the many americans i met.

Miles - hmm.. going by the tone of yer comment, i'll guess it's england that's independant of the US. non? i'd like to think it was a mere scuffle and i'm afraid you chose to keep the wrong country. why? canada is still having an identity crisis that's why. like, the whole lot of em sound yank but they still spell the english way.

Happy independance day to your English readers as well! Just who do you think became independant of who?

Wasn't much of a fight we put up was it, we only wanted Canada, and we kept it ;)

This is a very special 4th for me as I am here in my home country. Don't know when I will be back again for another. What do you think the odds are that Krip might let us, the little one and me, celebrate just a little bit next year?
