one of these thing's is not like the others

i know a gobful, that.

and rather unoriginal [sounds familiar, people?] to boot.

i may trundle off to the padang [literally, "the field" in malay infront of parliament house] this weekend to watch the seven's which, my goodness, is in its 59th year already. the last time i watched it was in 2003.

which coincidentally enough was my first ever as an ex-cow-orker emailed us all to go support the game. and i remember wondering how come i'd never heard of the tournament before - 'cos ruggers was considered an upper class sorta sport back in the old day's. along with *cricket.

no in truth, throughout my entire youth, i had dismissed rugby as a completely daft but bloody sport. until one fateful day in june 2003. and for the life of me, i absolutely had no idea how come i missed said seven's in 2004 and 2005. anyhoo, i digress.

if any of you's does notice the list of team's, a certain country is taking part for the very first time. this same country whose certain sport that has got wimpy *footballer's* wearin shoulder pads, helmet's and robin-hood tight's two [or is it three?] sizes smaller.

:D

if anyone's surprised to see japan and thailand, that's probably because there are an assortment of brit's and antipodeans in the team. although you and i know that japan are eager to have their finger's in every sporting [except cricket] pie - lost their bid to host the rugby world cup in 2015. a mighty greedy lot, i must say.

talk of which, and oddly enough, for a rather decidedly british sport, the west indies and the entire subcontinent are glaringly absent from this tournament. and so are the frog's.

well, ain't a chunk of prime real estate in france belonged to the english once?

* the cricket club where it's held is still a snobby posh club for the wealthy as well as populated by expat's of various nationalities. before they sod off for good in 1972 [or was it 1971? 1973?], the posh wanker's amongst em colonialist's made sure the natives weren't anywhere near the grounds.
