this piece of utter tosh is passed off as journalism. much less, allowed to see the light of day. what insult.
see the bit about asian's are obliged to support asian team's at the world cup regardless? amongst other bollocks? it's clear that the words "fair play" and "underdogs" never exist in this specimen's vocabulary. nor does it have a clear concept of supporting a certain club or country/countries - as in the case of international tourney's.
really, how could this sorry excuse of a human being be allowed to even breathe? surely this is an insult to the entire human race?
as enscribed by the letter b @ June 20, 2006 11:30 AM | someone's pingedgood to hear from you, matey. yep, it all boils down to individual choice and that's the whole idea about sport-watching and team-supporting.
i believe that this specimen [who i find it too disgusting to even accord its proper name] wouldn't hesitate to force his ideology down em canucks' throats if he were to find out that the concept of team loyalty doesn't quite exist in the great white north. they'd root for toronto maple leafs in one season and then edmonton oilers the next for instance - or wherever their "god" decides to ply their trade or play where the dosh is.
likewise no wee islander understood why middlesbrough's my third favouritest club when i mentioned it was because of a certain Bryan Robson. that's why i find it easier to communicate with cats/dogs than homo mong's with their perpetual "wat dis woman talking about hah?" facial expression.
btw, with reference to the tag you mentioned, "mingingest twunttin wanker of the highest order" more like it.
as blahed by the letter b @ June 21, 2006 04:14 AMIf he dares call it the "Beautiful Game", he would have known better than to bring up the issue of geographical and political identities in his commentary. I am rooting for Argentina and Spain for this World Cup and I do so not because I have placed bets on them. They play great football and this is precisely why I am rooting for them. If he is so into identity, he should really be writing about how Singaporeans should boycott the World Cup and watch the S-League instead.
Mr. Leong makes more sweeping statements in his commentary than the "grandfather of blogs" has podcasts.
