yet another fine example of PC gone horribly mad.
some loony bird, who's the chief gaols inspector, thinks that the mere sight of the st george is "distressing" to minority prisoner's:
Prison staff have been told to stop wearing Cross of St George tiepins because they could be "misinterpreted'' as a racist symbol.
so it's alright for paki's to distribute to passer's-by leaflets exhortin non-believer's to quit their "decadent and immoral" lifestyle outside mosques then? or to enjoy 72 virgin's in heaven, they should go blow emselves up into pieces?
so that is *not* a racist act?
and if these minorities get upset over the most trivial of an occurence - or perceive the merest of slight as racism/bigotry - surely they would be better off if they return to whence they or their grandparent's came? either they put up or bunk off.
or is said loony bird trying to earn some brownie point's with the minorities?
in fact she has just proven to chauvinist pig's the blue marble over that women are not capable enough for top job's.

it's very depressing to see the country/nation we love has reduced to such a state isn't it? even Alice just whinged about it today which i will blog about it later.
the shameful bit has got to be their not doing anythin to stop this rot. and only if the whole lot of em are sent overseas to work and only then they will realise what a great country they are. yet some do not dare to offend the natives read: wee islanders, by NOT singing god save the queen whilst watchin 'live' sport!! there's no sign of fuckin patriotism and there they are demandin immigrants to their country to integrate?
what is really disgraceful is alot of em don't know the words to the national anthem and most have no pride in it. partly due to the welsh, scots and irish problem as you had stated. funnily enough em welsh don't seem to have a drinkin problem eh?
as blahed by the letter b @ October 11, 2005 11:31 AMI hope you don't mind my unsolicited tupence in this discussion, but I agree with you 100%. As a foreigner living in England I've found it an interesting phenominae that the British are afraid to show any symbolism of patriotism. My personal opinion is that it is the reason that the UK is an illusion. The welsh, a rude and surly people aren't really British, they just tolerate the English because they make a shedload of money off 'em. The scots are willing to accept english money for this and that as long as they get to govern themselves and tell the English how they should be doin' it too. The Irish don't have much say since they're an occupied territory. They should admit defeat and live as a subjucated race since, after 350 some odd years of occupation, it's a bit late to do anything about it. I doubt that they're all that shot in the ass about the Jack bein' flown in their country. The British have lost the empire, and it seems their own identity. There seems to be no outward sign of pride in their country or culture or history or heritage except for sports. They will wildly wave the St. George Cross for their local set of losers, but they won't do it for something as important as national identity. Like I said, I think the Brits have lost what little sense of National identity they used to have, unless that was an illusion too.
Before anyone gets the idea that this is an anti-British rant, I promise it isn't. I like this country, I support the Queen, and respect the history of this lovely place. I just find it depressing that the Union of the Union Jack is so easily dismissed. I proudly fly the Union Jack, as well as the American and Confederate flags at appropriate times, and frankly don't care what the other foreigners think about it.
i'm sure an amoeba has more sense than she does.
