what the eff' is it?

label on the new pair of jeans from my favouritest clobber shop, see emphasis:
LOW RISE BOOTCUT

what exactly did they mean? should there be a correlation between "low" and "rise"?

i'm afraid not luv :( why can't they just simply say

"this pair of jeans may seem snug at first but be aware that it is so low-slung, erm.. uhm.. you get the drift".

that explains how come i wasn't hired as a marcom person.

High Rise, very high
Low Rise, not so high
Any logic here?
