achtung!

there will not be any blah's tomorrow as i'd be away at some "adventure" park for the department's "team building" bollocks. which we supposed to attend last month but was postponed to tomorrow and next wednesday.

and then we were made to sign some indemnity form in the guise of food preferences and medical allergies declaration from the organisers. i listed *"grass" and "vertigo" under the allergies and medical condition sections, as i gathered we would spend alot of time getting *baked/roasted under the sun.

me bro suggested that i put "cow-orkers" so that i'd be left to my own devices.

if only i could.

* not that i have an aversion towards sunlight. or grass. though i do have a frightful fear of heights.

well i sort of enjoyed it actually, coffdrop, though i can't agree with you more about the time and dosh wasting bit. does anyone seriously think the average office amoeba would actually analyse and then adapt what they learnt?

like today, my gaffer proved he's a total clueless imbecilic inept prat which i struggled not to laugh out loud in his mug. but i enjoyed it 'cos:
1. i learnt i have a calming effect on people - read: i can actually psychologically manipulate people.
2. i caught some american colleague's fancy. i think.

and most importantly i could introduce this course to future customers of my business! hurrah!

Oh dear! Team building exercises. An exercise in how not to run a company, if the exercises are the "complete silly tasks by working as a team" sort of thing. Pointless wastes of time an money in my humble opinion.

Far better to book everyone on a sailing course and let them learn team skills in a more practicable environment. Then go out on a social event after.

I hope you enjoyed it B.

actually i did one of those in sing a few months back. They had the senior to middle management of my firm running around Sing with ridiculous T-shirts, annoying and haggling the locals.

We bonded!!

Everyone hated us though.

not at all, it's for my department - or i'd be one happy camper. and yes, closer and physical contact with extreme spastics including the gaffer tomorrow. bleeurgh.

Are the Irish chappie or Yank lawyer in that 'team building' event?
